Survata is a San Francisco startup building the Brand Intelligence platform. We help clients like Clorox and Chipotle measure consumer sentiment at every touchpoint on the customer journey. Our technology allows clients to interview consumers based on specific online & offline actions. We leverage the scale of the web to drastically increase our consumer reach. Beyond simply providing the data, our platform enables clients to analyze and visualize their data to provide actionable insights.

Marketing Director

You will drive Survata’s growth by acquiring leads and clients. You will turn our marketing efforts into a machine with predictable, measurable outputs. You will help Survata tell a consistent and exciting story to the world.

About you

  • You’ve successfully led all or part of a startup B2B marketing team before as a Director or Manager.
  • You understand demand gen, and believe Marketing & Sales should have an SLA around leads.
  • You’ve built a marketing automation system, and have a strong view of your ideal “marketing tech stack.”
  • You’re technically skilled at acquisition marketing; you’ve run substantial AdWords and Facebook campaigns. Colleagues were amazed by how data-driven you were.
  • You have a bias towards action, and an allergy to marketers who talk about big ideas but don’t execute. You may even refuse to work with such people.
  • You’re a rare left-brain/right-brain combination; you’re an Excel whiz but have an eye for design and are an excellent writer.
  • You have hands-on experience with a broad range of marketing efforts — content marketing, collateral generation, PR, events, and more.
  • You have strong opinions on how specific B2B startups should be positioned, or what their brand should represent.

Data Analyst

Survata is the Brand Intelligence Platform — allowing brands to measure consumer sentiment at every touchpoint on the customer journey. The world’s biggest brands really want actionable insights, and our Data Analysts seek to uncover those insights from the data we collect. Ideal for an entry-mid level employee with a passion for big data. You pull the data, prepare it, and analyze it. You won’t rest until you understand the “why” behind the data.

About you

  • You love solving a variety of business problems by analyzing data
  • Even more important than your statistical knowledge is your statistical instinct - you have a great feel for data
  • You have experience managing large data sets, and you’re always looking for better tools to make it easy
  • You’re a SQL expert, because you know that pulling and preparing the data is often the hardest part
  • You have experience with R or Python or both, but you can also use good old Excel when it’s easier
  • Communication is a vital lifeline for you — you know the most valuable insights aren’t worth anything if they can’t be communicated clearly
  • You independently set deadlines to work against and work hard to meet them (through implementation, execution, and analysis)

Senior Backend Software Engineer

We’re bringing market research into the modern world. From a survey-building tool, to a checkout flow, to a publisher network, to a data analysis tool, our systems have to do a lot to deliver big value to our clients. Our data pipeline scales into the billions to allow our clients to do research based on online actions.

You’ll help set up our systems for the growth to come. You’ll implement statistical tests to help our clients understand what is happening, with just a glance. No matter the project, you’ll jump in with both feet, architecting it just enough to deliver in the short term and set us up for the long term.

  • You’ve built big systems that drive a business.
  • You love data & analytics and can build systems that help shine a light on the story behind that data.

Full-stack Software Engineer

We’re bringing market research into the modern world. From a survey-building tool, to a checkout flow, to a publisher network, to a data analysis tool, our systems have to do a lot to deliver big value to our clients. Our data pipeline scales into the billions to allow our clients to do research based on online actions.

You’ll add a lot of features quickly, making sure to keep the code base clean. All the way from the database up to the CSS, with the bulk of the heavy lifting in Javascript. Our focus is on keeping things simple for our clients, so you’ll take that to heart while working with our entire engineering team to bring our systems to the next level.

About you

  • You love to build software that drives the bottom line for a business.
  • You want to work with other smart, hard-working engineers to solve big problems.
  • You have a passion for data, and are interested in data visualization.
  • You have strong opinions about what makes a good API. You’ll not only help build ours, but you’ll be a customer of it, so you’ll help keep us in line.

Sales Operations Lead

Our sales operations lead will take charge of everything under the hood of Survata’s sales machine, and improve our sales efficiency. You will manage our CRM (Salesforce.com) and our sales-tech stack: email-sending platforms, lead-generation tools, contract management software, etc. You will track and analyze the sales team’s performance, pulling together reports on activities and goals. You will make our sales team into a well-oiled machine by converting all actions into repeatable, scalable processes.

About you

  • You have experience with sales operations for a B2B sales organization
  • You’re a Salesforce.com geek, and are bothered by sloppy CRM implementations
  • You’re an advanced Excel user, and don’t even consider pivot tables to be an advanced skill
  • You may not have any background in coding, but are definitely tech-savvy - you aren’t afraid to write a few SQL queries
  • You can crisply document processes, like Account Executive onboarding & training
  • You thrive in an environment where you need to jump between tasks
